ANDRIANI SUGIAntO

Andriani Sugianto is a designer and artist, exploring innovation, sustainability, and beauty in architecture and graphic design.

She is in her fifth year studying at California Baptist University (CBU), striving to complete a master’s in architecture and a minor in graphic design.  She is from Colorado but has spent the other half of her life across the Pacific ocean on the verdant islands of Indonesia. Her multicultural heritage of Indonesia and America offers a broadened worldview and understanding of diversity.

She currently utilizes her skills at Ruhanu Clarke Architect, an architecture firm in Downtown Riverside, California. Before this opportunity, she concluded serving CBU's College of Architecture, Visual Arts and Design (CAVAD) as a Teacher’s Assistant for a foundational design course working alongside the guidance of the Assistant Dean of CAVAD, Matthew Niermann.

Starting off 2021, Andriani received several national and regional awards. Andriani was a winner of the AIA COTE Top Ten national competition, featured in Architect Magazine, and placed first in the CASH Student Design Awards Competition. She proceeded to win second place in AIA IC's Student Design Awards, the Engage Award for AIA LA 2x8 Competition, and the PBK Architects' Scholarship for Design Creativity and Innovation. Just recently, Andriani was named one of Metropolis' Future 100 of 2022.

Andriani stretches her talents across many areas of design. She has held three summers of architecture internships, one at Ministry Architecture and two at Pow & Associates Architecture. She has also dabbled in free-lance design for graphic design and fine arts, and even practiced as a Henna Artist for city festivals through her personal business.

Prompting Andriani’s desire to pursue a creative career, she won three national awards in the Scholastics Art and Writing Awards in 2016, two silver and one honorable mention. Andriani ranks at the top of her class, earning the Faculty Award for Highest Academic Achievement for the fourth year in a row. She has been featured in several articles by Architect Magazine, Archinect, Dezeen, Pursuit, and five CBU publications.
